Creating a new database

Creating a new database is an easy way to have multiple databases for everything you collect. It is also a great way to have databases for everyone in the family, you may want to have a very specific database and your son or daughter may want to have one for something they collect but you don't want to have sea shells in your master database of First Class Postage stamps. The multiple database option is also very useful for Garage sales you can easily manage your garage items separated by database so you can see what sells and what collect dust!

Under the "File" option in the top tool bar in KollectAll are all the database options, the first option is under the "File" tool bar is "New Database".

Once you click on "New Database" windows will open a pop up window allowing you to create your new database, the pop window should open showing your existing databases, you can create a new database there or you can navigate using the windows pop up window to a different place on the hard drive where you want to create this new database for security reasons etc. You may also get a pop up window saying that a current database is open when you click on "New Database" click on OK to close that database so you can create the new database.

Once you have the windows pop up window pointing to the location on your hard drive where you want to create the new database all you have to do is name the new database and KollectAll will create a new empty database ready for you to create your first folder.
